Hackers have recently found their ways into databases of the Brazilian governments. The aim were so-called  transport permits which allows transportation of timber. A whopping estimated 1,7 million cubic meters have been harvested, says Greenpeace. In another fraud, hackers stole 250,000 carbon credit permits worth more than $4 million.

A point to take away from this is that there is big business in resources that are not in line with our goals. Where ever there is much money at stake, people will try to get it. Being aware that these forces exist in the eco-world helps gives us insight into how to proof our system of these aspects
